A Whole Vacation Stay With Just One Credit Card

Chase has a new offer that’s never been bigger before for the Marriott Bonvoy BoundlessTM Credit Card. You can earn 5 free nights after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. These nights are each valid for redemptions worth up to 50,000 points, or 250,000 points total.

What’s amazing is that two nights is a standard offer, or 100,000 points worth two 50,000 point nights apiece. This isn’t just bigger. It isn’t twice as big. It’s worth up to two and a half times the usual offer.

At my last published points valuation 250,000 points are worth $1500 (many readers argue I undervalue Marriott points because of their usefulness transferring to airlines, but since these certificates don’t offer that option let’s go with my lower value).

Bear in mind that free nights expire after a year. Some people will use them at hotels valued at less than 50,000 points per night, too, though some will use that at pricier hotels because Marriott now allows topping off free night certificates with up to an additional 15,000 points per night. But the key takeaway is that a single credit card can give you 5 nights, enough for a full vacation stay, which we’ve only seen one other time before at the height of the pandemic when rooms were empty.

The card comes with automatic Silver elite status. Spending $35,000 in purchases on the card in an account year earns Gold status. And you receive 15 elite nights towards status each year you have the card as well. Plus earn 1 Elite Night Credit towards Elite Status for every $5,000 you spend.

You also receive a Free Night Award every year after your account anniversary, valid for a one-night stay whose redemption value is up to 35,000 points.

Chase will generally only approve you for a new card if you’ve had fewer than 5 new cards in the last 24 months (“5/24”).

This specific card isn’t available to you if you are a current Marriott personal card cardmember or received a bonus for one in the last 24 months, or you received a bonus on a Marriott American Express card in the past 24 months. Otherwise it’s an offer that’s too good to pass up.
