KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes for July 2022 are live (don’t get your hopes up!)

Singapore Airlines has now published its Spontaneous Escapes deals for travel in July and while the airline is still offering an attractive 30% discount on awards booked on select routes, the number of routes offering discounted Business Class awards and/or discounted Premium Economy awards has dropped dramatically since Spontaneous Escapes first came back (in full) back in March. Impressive isn’t a word that anyone will be using to describe this set of deals.

Headline Terms & Conditions

  • Book by 30 June 2022
  • Travel between 1 and 31 July 2022
  • Get a 30% discount on select award bookings
  • One-way and roundtrip awards are permissible
  • Taxes and fees will be charged

Full terms and conditions are reproduced at the end of this post

Example Deals

The prices shown are for one-way travel excluding taxes and fees.

Keep in mind these are examples so there are a lot of other options available too.

Business Class Deals

More than a little amazingly, this set of Business Class Spontaneous Escapes deals doesn’t feature any routes to or from North Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, or Australia so if you were hoping for some blockbuster long-haul offers, now would be the time to reset your expectations.

Southeast Asia Routes:

Singapore to or from…

  • Hanoi (on select flights) – 15,050 miles*
  • Ho Chi Minh City (on select flights) – 15,050 miles*
  • Da Nang (on select flights) – 15,050 miles*

*Blackout dates may apply

West Asia & Africa Routes:

Singapore to or from…

  • Bangalore (on select flights) – 27,300 miles
  • Chennai (on select flights) – 27,300 miles
  • Mumbai (on select flights) – 27,300 miles
  • New Delhi (on select flights) – 27,300 miles

That’s it! There are a few other Business Class spontaneous deals on offer in these two regions but nothing exciting and nothing elsewhere.

Example Premium Economy Deals

Just as with the Business Class awards, Premium Economy deals are very thin on the ground…although at least we have a couple of deals available to and/or from New York.

West Asia & Africa Routes:

Singapore to or from…

  • Mumbai (on select flights) – 22,400 miles
  • New Delhi (on select flights) – 22,400 miles

USA & Canada Routes:

Singapore to or from…

  • New York (EWR) (on select flights) – 51,100 miles

Singapore to…

  • New York (JFK) (on select flights) – 51,100 miles

Ths time that really is it. This set of Spontaneous Escapes is offer deals to and/or from just 3 cities. Why did they even bother?!

Bottom Line

I can’t remember what the deals for travel in June looked like but compared to some of the great deals we saw for travel between April and the end of May, this is a colossally disappointing set of KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes. In fact, they’re pathetic. Considering these “deals” have been announced less than two weeks after Singapore Airlines announced that it would be increasing the cost of all awards next month, I would have thought that the airline would have taken this opportunity to throw its KrisFlyer members a bone to keep them vaguely happy…apparently not.
