Wide Open: Use Miles To Fly Singapore Airlines Business Class To Europe

Singapore Airlines saver award space is wide open for those who want to travel business class between the U.S. and Europe. It’s available starting August and running all the way through end of schedule in June 2023. And it’s available on both transatlantic routes that Singapore Airlines flies. This award space was first spotted by Thrifty Traveler‘s premium airfare deal alert service.

  • New York JFK – Frankfurt
  • Houston – Manchester, U.K.

Here’s a sample of the New York – Frankfurt route for 2 business class saver awards in April, 2023:

The New York JFK – Frankfurt flight is operated by an Airbus A380 featuring the airline’s latest business class. Meanwhile Houston – Manchester is operated using an Airbus A350.

Flights cost 72,000 miles each way per person. The KrisFlyer program doesn’t add fuel surcharges to Singapore Airlines awards.

Points transfer from American Express, Capital One, Chase and Citibank – Amex and Capital One points transfer faster, though all usually within 24 hours.

It’s an award availability desert out there right now, but Singapore Airlines availability – a nice business class, two routes, available most of the time – has you covered. And since points from all of the big bank transferable programs move into Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, many readers will be able to book these seats.

Note of course that you do need to use Singapore’s own miles to book long haul premium cabin travel. They do not intentionally make this award space available to partner airlines like United MileagePlus or Avianca LifeMiles.
