20% Rebate On Two Months Of Hyatt Award Stays At 3 Brands

Hyatt consumer co-brand credit card customers can receive a 20% rebate on award nights for stays at 3 brands completed between July 5 and September 5, 2022. Registration is required by July 31, 2022.

The rebate covers free night awards, the points portion of cash and points, upgrade awards, and dining and spa redemptions at the following ‘Independent Collection’ brands:

  • JdV by Hyatt
  • Destination by Hyatt
  • The Unbound Collection

The Seabird Resort in Oceanside, California is a Destination By Hyatt Hotel

To be eligible your credit card account “must be open at the time of fulfillment.” That means if you do not have the card yet you may still be able to get it and take advantage of the offer, and also that if you close your account now future stays may not be eligible for the rebate.

The maximum rebate is 30,000 points per transaction and rebates can take up to 6 weeks to post but past experience suggests it will not take this long.

Each year, generally in the summer, Hyatt has offered co-brand cardmembers a rebate on points redemptions. 10% rebates have been most common, though in 2015 Hyatt offered nearly 5 months of a 20% rebate.

Last summer they offered 25% but just at these 3 ‘independent’ brands. This year it’s just 20%, and only for 2 months.

There are 24 currently open or pending JdV by Hyatt properties. There are 60 currently open orpending Destination by Hyatt properties. And there are 36 currently open or pending Unbound Collection properties. Together that’s about 10% of the Hyatt footprint (not including SLH or other partner hotels) where this summer’s cobrand cardmember rebate can be used. And that’s before we get into the capping of rebates per redemption that was introduced last year.

Rebates are great but with hotels increasingly full, especially in the U.S., Hyatt’s annual offer with Chase is getting less and less valuable. Many of you will be able to benefit from it this summer, however.
