Changes to Southwest Companion Pass Requirements, Airlines with Kid-free Zones and More

Southwest Airlines Increases Companion Pass Requirements: I just received an email this morning from Southwest Airlines indicating that the requirement to earn the Companion Pass for 2023 is now 135,000 points (instead of 125,000 points). Rapid Rewards credit card members will receive a boost of 10,000 points per year. Remember the good ‘ol days when it used to be 100,000 points? Ah, inflation.

5 Airlines that Now Offer Child-Free Cabins, Quiet Zones and More: I had no idea these existed! See this post on Your Mileage May Vary. I’ve never had a terrible screaming baby flight (knock on wood), but I can see how it would be exhausting for everyone on a long-haul flight.

Marriott is Ending its 5000-mile Transfer Bonus for 3 Airline Programs: Marriott used to give you an extra 5000 miles if you transferred 60k points to airlines. Starting October 31, 2022, this transfer bonus is ending for transfers to American, Delta and Avianca. See this post on TPG.

Hyatt Award Transfer: Check out this post on Miles to Memories on how to transfer a free night certificate to another person. Who knew?

Enjoy your weekend!
