Many of you have never heard of Billund Airport, but it’s the second largest in Denmark. They want you to know that they’re much bigger than you’d think, and they have a way of showing it that may inspire fear, anxiety, and in some of us… envy.

The city is home to the LEGO group, which established its factory in the city, and the airport is served by most major European airlines including Air France, Lufthansa, KLM, British Airways, LOT Polish, Ryanair, Scandinavian, Turkish, Vueling, Wizzair and more. It has a runway capable of handling Boeing 747s, though larger planes are mostly used for cargo.
Before the pandemic it saw over 3.5 million passengers. It’s busier than Stockholm’s second airport, and about the size of Tromso, but trailing Stavanger.
Ultimately Billund Airport’s advertising shows that we still live in a world where all men aren’t truly created equal.
