On Monday a special deal was posted, buried in a frequent flyer forum: the brand new Andaz Mexico City which opens in January was making suites available for just $39 plus 6000 Hyatt points per night. You may not have Hyatt points, but both Chase and Bilt points transfer to Hyatt (and Hyatt, of course, sells points as well).
- Confirmed suites at the hotel go for 21,000 – 27,000 points per night
- Room rates here run $300 or so for a regular room and twice that for a suite
It seems that what is happening is that the points upgrade rate – 6000 points on top of the rate for an eligible room – is pricing at $39 perhaps instead of $390. And it’s bookable from when the hotel opens in January through the end of Hyatt’s booking window late next year.
Unpack and relax in an expansive 592-square-foot suite with a separate living area, a sofa, and views of the street, city, or internal patio; features a coffee maker, minibar, work desk, and one king bed.
What you need to do is search points rates at the property, and scroll to the right to get to the suite upgrade rate with points (“Lg Suite Pts Upgr”).
Word broke out today about the rate, first on Reddit and then at Doctor of Credit and Dan’s Deals.
With the low volume of bookings over the past four days it might have flown under the radar. Now word is out. There’s either strength in numbers, or this will be so costly to the hotel given much higher volume of bookings that they may push back. However similar past deals at Hyatt properties have been honored. Regardless I would wait awhile after making the reservation to lock in airfare or other non-refundable arrangements. Then use the money you save on hotel for a meal at Pujol.
