Alaska Airlines and Lyft have a new partnership. You’ll earn 1 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan mile per dollar spent with Lyft in the U.S. and Canada, and through December 31 you’ll earn 2 Alaska miles per dollar.
Just link your Alaska and Lyft accounts at AlaskaLyft.com, and be sure that Alaska is your preferred partner in the Lyft app’s Rewards section (since they have other partners, too).
You can currently choose whether to earn 3 Hilton points or 1 Delta miles with Lyft. For everything but airport runs, where you earn more Delta miles, earning Hilton points is a little better.
I’d argue a single Alaska Airlines mile is worth about what 3 Hilton points are worth and will probably go with Alaska in the long run. Through December 31, though, earning 2 Alaska miles per dollar is a no brainer.
Pay for Lyft rides using Chase Sapphire Reserve® and you earn 10 points per dollar spent. The card currently has its best offer in the last 6 years to earn 80,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. Meanwhile Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Freedom Student and Ink cardmembers continue to earn 5x (or 5% cash) on Lyft rides.
