New Capital One-Uber Partnership

I receive compensation for content and many links on this blog. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as is American Express, Chase, Barclays and Capital One. Capital One has a new partnership with Uber that offers strong points-earning and statement credits to cover Uber One subscriptions.

This is a new benefit with the bank’s Savor card line, as well as Quicksilver student cards. These are clearly merchant-funded offers with Uber seeking access to Capital One’s dining-focused cardmembers and price-sensitive students where they have an opportunity to influence buying decisions over a long time horizon.

  • Savor, SavorOne, avorOne Student and Quicksilver Student cardholders earn 10% on Uber and Uber Eats, plus complimentary Uber One membership, through November 14, 2024.

  • Quicksilver, QuicksilverOne, and Quicksilver Secured cardholders get 6 months of an Uber One monthly membership statement credit through November 14, 2024.

  • No action needed for the enhanced earning. Enrolling in Uber One monthly membership in the Uber or Uber Eats app and setting their Capital One card as payment will trigger a statement credit.

This isn’t a new relationship for Capital One. In July 2020 Capital One introduced six and a half months of 5x Uber Eats earn for Venture and Savor products.

10x on Uber is huge and frankly I wish I had this on my Venture X card. I do earn 10x with Lyft via Chase, of course, but that benefit doesn’t extend to dining. I get DoorDash Dash Pass via Chase, but I haven’t signed up for Uber One’s free trial with the sunsetting of Uber’s loyalty program. In fact, I’m largely moving away from Uber as a result of that decision. If the 10x were available on the Capital One card I have that would move the needle back. Alas.

It’s impressive that this offer, which is really valuable, even comes with the SavorOne, SavorOne Student and Quicksilver Student no annual fee cards. (Indeed it’s shocking that secured cardholders ge 6 months of Uber One when Uber is only offering me 3 months as a Diamond member having earned benefits yanked early with the termination of their loyalty program.) The Savor card itself though is by far the most valuable of the lot with 4x on dining, entertainment and several streaming services and 3x at grocery stores and pairs well with Venture products.
